Abuse policy

BookASlot takes misuse of the platform seriously. This page explains what counts as abuse, how to report it, and what happens once you do.

What to report

Fake or fraudulent listings — a supplier profile or service that doesn't exist, is misleadingly described, or is set up to scam customers
Fraudulent bookings or payments — stolen payment details, fake booking references, or attempts to avoid paying a supplier after receiving a service
Harassment or threats — abusive messages, threats, or discriminatory behaviour directed at a customer, supplier, or staff member
Fake reviews — reviews left for bookings that didn't happen, or reviews that are bought, coerced, or otherwise manipulated
Account takeover or security issues — unauthorised access to an account, or a vulnerability in the platform itself
Inappropriate content — offensive, illegal, or infringing photos, descriptions, or messages
Suspected child safety concerns — treated with the highest priority; see below

How to report

Use any of these channels — reports are reviewed by our team, not automatically actioned:

Email admin@bookaslot.co.za with as much detail as you can: booking reference, supplier or customer name, dates, and screenshots if relevant

Message us on WhatsApp for urgent issues

What happens next

We aim to acknowledge reports promptly and investigate before taking action. Depending on severity, outcomes can include a warning, temporary suspension, permanent removal from the platform, and — where the report involves potential criminal conduct such as fraud — referral to the South African Police Service or relevant authority.

Child safety

Any report involving suspected harm to a minor is treated as an immediate priority and escalated accordingly, in addition to any legal reporting obligations under South African law.

False reports

Reports made in bad faith — to harass a legitimate user or gain a competitive advantage — are themselves a breach of our Usage Policy and may result in action against the reporting account.
